Dardur Gynecology

Are you considering an obgyn? Here are some things to consider when making your choice. An obgyn is a doctor who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. They can provide you with care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. They can also help you with issues related to your reproductive health. Not all doctors are obgyns, so if you're looking for specialized care, be sure to see one. Obgyns typically have more training than other physicians, so they can provide you with the best possible care. While it might seem like a doctor's advanced training and experience make them qualified to handle any obstetric or gynecologic issue, there are many types of doctors who specialize in women's health.

If you're pregnant and considering providers for prenatal care, labor and delivery services, and/or postpartum care аnd delivery be sure that your doctor is an obgyn. Not all doctors who deliver babies are obgyns (though the majority of them are). If you don't see an obgyn during pregnancy, consider choosing one for labor and delivery if both physicians offer quality maternity services.

Routine pelvic exams are an essential part of preventive health care for healthy adult women. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that annual pelvic examinations should be performed on both premenopausal and post-menopausal women who have been sexually active with men as long as their overall health is stable. For physicians to establish an accurate diagnosis from which proper treatment can be recommended or instituted they must receive a complete medical history which includes details symptoms if any, previous treatment, family history, age, occupation, medications taken, and any allergies to medications. The pelvic examination is not required for all women seeking routine physical examinations or contraception. Pelvic examinations are not necessary before prescribing oral contraceptives or routine office procedures including insertion of intrauterine devices (IUDs) or contraceptive patches. After an abnormal pap smear resulting in a colposcopy exam, the physician may perform a speculum exam and bimanual palpation.
